The fourth annual reunion of the William C. Coe family was held at the Coe Homestead, Durham, August 24, 1899. There were forty nine direct descendants present, and eight guests. At one o’clock all sat down to a beautiful dinner, prepared by the ladies. After dinner the meeting was placed in the hands of the Literary Committee who had prepared a fine program.
The business meeting followed and the following officers were elected:

The historian W. T. Coe gave a very interesting address. Remarks by the president, W. T. Coe, H. W. Coe of East Haven, Mrs. Vail of New Haven, Mrs Phelps of Chicopee, Mrs. Henry Page of Durham, Charles Shepard of New Haven, E. D. Coe of Worcester, Mass. C. C. Camp of Middletown, and last but by no means least, Mrs. Eliza Coe of Durham, the aged widow of William C. Coe.
Voted to adjourn until the third Tuesday in August 1900 not withstanding the unpleasantness of the weather a very pleasant time was enjoyed by all. On account of the rain, W. T. Coe, the present owner, cleared his spacious barn floor and the collation was had there was room enough for all to sit at one table. The oldest person present was Mrs. Eliza Coe who is 88 years of age. The youngest present was Phebe Doane aged two months. There were also present twenty great grand children.
