Coe Family Reunion (1900)

 

The fifth annual reunion of the William C. Coe family was held in Durham at the Coe Homestead, Thursday August 16, 1900.  68 being present.   Dinner was served on the lawn in front of the house underneath several fine maple trees, after which the literary committee took charge of affairs.   The first order was a baritone solo by Prof. Frank Doane of West Hartford, which was especially fine.   Reading by Martha Coe of East Haven; reading Mrs. Jennie Coe Shepard of Southington, which was much enjoyed by all; solo Miss May Bruke; solo Martha Coe of East Haven, reading Miss Mildred Coe of Durham, H. W. Coe of East Haven, C. C. Camp of Middletown, A. M. Camp of Durham, Charles Shepard of New Haven was very amusing and bright as master of ceremonies.   

 

The following officers were then elected:   

President: C. W. Coe of Durham

Vice president: B. F. Page, Durham

Historians: W. T. Coe and A. M. Camp, Durham

Executive committee all of the grandsons of the family

Lliterary committee: Miss Mabel Coe, Mrs. E. E. Burke, Mrs. B. F. Page.   

It was voted to hold the next annual reunion August 22, 1901.
