Coe Family Reunion (1919)

The Twenty Second Annual Reunion of the William C. Coe Family was held at the Coe Homestead on the 9th day of August 1919.    In the sunlight of a beautiful day, sixty five Members of this reunion assembled around the tables under the wide spreading Maples.

After having a Most bountiful Dinner the business Meeting and Literary Program was before the assemblage.   Minutes of last Reunion read and accepted.   Address of Welcome, President Wm. T. Coe, Historian Report, Mrs. F. W. Doane, Literary Program: Song: quartette: Mr. & Mrs. F. W. Doane and Mr. & Mrs. Talmadge.   Encore response.   Bag Throwing contest: Roger Talmadge, Morris Rich, Donald Rich, Myra Rich, Beverly Doane, Evelyn Camp.   Contest won by__________.         Recitation; “Deacons Courtship”, Mrs. Julius Rich.   Cracker Eating Contest: By twelve of the “The Older Boys”.   Reading, “The Wanderer” Miss Phoebe Doane.   Nail Driving Contest, by the “Older Girls”.   At this point, The Executive Committee recommended that all of the old officers be re-nominated.   They were all re-elected.   Miss Phoebe Doane, was elected Poetess.   The following were elected as members of Coe Literary Committee for the next Re-union:  Miss Marion Coe, Mr. Ellis Stevens, Mrs. Julius J. Rich, Mr. Robert Coe.   On recommendation of Executive Committee, it was valid to adjourn until the Second Saturday in August 1920.   There were twenty three present who were present at the first Reunion.
